Riley Hilliard, professionally known as DJRi, has been immersed in music since a young age through the classical guitar. Instructed by master guitarist, Brandon Yip, Riley achieved large success, winning the Sacramento guitar championship at the age of 17 and advancing on to California State Finals.
College provided a new outlet for Riley’s musical foundations when he purchased a set of Technics and a mixer and began DJing at SDSU parties. He began broadcasting his DJ mixes online, founding iClub on iTunes. In under two months of it’s debut on iTunes, iClub climbed the charts to become the 8th most popular house broadcast, just behind major names like Tiesto’s Club Life, Armin Van Burren’s A State of Trance, and David Guetta’s *#@% Me I’m Famous. iClub currently reaches over 600,000 listeners world-wide and has featured guest appearances by DJ’s Ashley Wallbridge, Serge Devant, John Dahlback, and Avicii as well as the U.S. mashup DJ crew, the Rock-it-Scientists and DJ Cobra.
It wasn’t until the summer of 2009 that Riley made the move into professional producing and DJing following the suggestion of his friends to start looking into the Club scene in San Diego. Influenced by the mashup and track reconstruction work of other DJs, Riley began producing his own unique track edits and mashups for his sets. He has since been working as a producer for two of the largest and most respected online DJ record pools, mymp3pool.com and DMS (Direct Music Service), where his edits, mashups and DJ tools have been on the top of the DJ charts since his debut in September 2009. His edits have been played all over the globe by some of the top DJ’s in the industry.
Riley is currently working on a massive mashup project that is expected to be released in the Fall of 2010 so stay tuned!
