Music runs in my blood. It is the one thing in the world that, without fail, can make me feel good when nothing else can. It is powerful, possessive, emotional and beautiful. In life, you don‘t get to choose the music you like, the music chooses you. A couple years ago, I made the decision to begin DJing and since then, electronic music has been my passion. I am a big proponent of Ableton Live and use MIDI controllers like the Monome and UC-33 to remix songs live on the go. Since beginning DJing, I have founded Starry Eyed Music & Records, opened for numerous top 100 DJs, performed at the Winter Music Conference Miami ‘08, the Ultra Music Festival ‘08 in Miami, the Vegas Music Conference ‘07 and started an underground warehouse scene in Downtown San Diego, California. For some reason, things keep going well and until they stop, music will be my life.

Living as a California native, I approach life with a laidback and open-minded view.  All aspects of life are simple molds for us to change into something we find beautiful.  This is the way I choose to approach music.  I create pathways through my music that have the potential to lead into journeys, but it is up to you to walk that path.  Music is a doorway, an escape, an extension.  Music is my way of finding beauty in life.

DJ KURCH

Born and raised in Southern California, TJ Kirchoff, or DJ KURCH as he is known, has been rockin’ the turntables since his early college days at San Diego State. Almost every night of the week he would be on the decks at a house party playing until the early morning when the last person left the dance floor. It was this practice and experience that allowed him an easy transition to the San Diego club scene in early 2006.

His versatility makes him an asset to the DJ world as he can play all genres of music. From house and electro, to underground and hip-hop, or all mixed in to one seamless set, KURCH can play it all. KURCH has rocked the wheels of steel in Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and at all of San Diego’s hottest clubs landing himself residencies at the Hard Rock, The W Hotel, On Broadway and the Keating.  He has shared the stage with some of the world’s biggest names in the electronic and pop music industries (See Press Kit for most updated list). Don’t sleep on this kid! At only 23 years old, he is growing and always on the move!

Ben Cohen

I have been influenced by many different genres of music from an early age. Growing up, I fell in love with a wide array of popular styles including jazz, disco, rock & roll and hip-hop, however I have always had a deep passion for dance music. Exposed to the foreign styles of house and happy hard core in my teenage years, I reflect that energy and passion in my own music. In the past few years I have been influenced by performances from top artists including Tiesto, Mark Knight, Eric Prydz, and Deep Dish. These performances have pushed me to dive into the current scene and are what initially inspired me to become a DJ. I have truly found a passion that allows me to express my current perspectives and influences through my music. Currently my style consists of tech, progressive, and electric house, and it is these funky beats that make me love what I do.

Erik Till

My passion for music started very early when I started collecting music and sharing it with my friends – I was always determined to be first in discovering new music and trends.  My background in music creation, composition, and performance also began quite young.  I started creating electronic music on my parents’ PC before I even knew what a club looked like.  I have been in different bands that have had much success – including First to Leave and Fight FAIR – and have taken these experiences with me into different genres of music.  From garages to bedrooms to dance floors, entertaining others through music is the best feeling in the world to me.  Eventually, I would like to incorporate more of a “live” aspect into my DJing, including live guitars, keyboards, drums, and even vocals.  I am excited to share my passion with others and I am always grateful for the support I have received from friends and family.

Minaya

I live, love and breathe music. It changes how we live our lives and how we express ourselves. It affects our moods and emotions. I take on every mix with an open mind. I never shy from blending together genres you wouldn’t normally expect to hear in a regular DJ mix. To me genre is meaningless, it only serves to divide people.

I’ve been DJing since I was 16 and have loved every minute of it. The feeling of playing my favorite songs to people who love them just as much as me is euphoric. The energy, the vibration of the music and the sight of people dancing is what I live for. I hope to bring something new to the table with every mix I put together. Hopefully using my eclectic style to bring in people who wouldn’t normally give electronic music a chance.

Playing live and creating music is a passion I never intend to leave behind and I hope everyone keeps their ears and minds open to what I do.
